Jim is a member of the Wealth Management Group responsible for individual and foundation financial planning and investment management. He also advises corporate clients on matters such as Board compensation, equity ownership, and shareholder transition. Over his career, Jim has advised numerous Boards, Compensation Committees, and Finance Committees on the intricacies of investment policy development, investment management and establishing and managing complex compensation-related programs.

Jim brings 40 years of executive, board and consulting experience to Financial Concepts. His experience includes participation in and/or founding nearly ten start-up ventures building several to successful businesses, as well as domestic and international business practices. He has been a consultant in the areas of Executive & Director Compensation, Board Business Advisor to several companies, and Investment and Financial Advisor to individual clients. Jim is a Registered Representative of NFP Securities, Inc. and an Investment Advisor Representative of Financial Concepts.

Jim has a B.S. in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Professional Accountants, the Minnesota Society of CPA’s and the Financial Executive Institute.

Jim is a member of the Minnesota Bioscience Council, appointed by former Governor Pawlenty. He is on the Runestone Museum Board of Directors, as well as Douglas County Lake Association Board and Chippewa Lake Association Board of Directors.
